Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway’s contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered.
This Week’s Topic
What was the best book you read in September?
My Answer
I love a good forbidden love story!
Inbetween by Tara Fuller
Since the car crash that took her father’s life three years ago, Emma’s life has been a freaky — and unending — lesson in caution. Surviving “accidents” has taken priority over being a normal seventeen-year-old, so Emma spends her days taking pictures of life instead of living it. Falling in love with a boy was never part of the plan. Falling for a reaper who makes her chest ache and her head spin? Not an option.
It’s not easy being dead, especially for a reaper in love with a girl fate has put on his list not once, but twice. Finn’s fellow reapers give him hell about spending time with Emma, but Finn couldn’t let her die before, and he’s not about to let her die now. He will protect the girl he loves from the evil he accidentally unleashed, even if it means sacrificing the only thing he has left…his soul.
I’ve seen the cover of In Between, but I think that’s the first time I’ve read the blurb. Sounds really good!
InBetween was on my to-read list from the moment I saw the cover. It’s one of few books that I purchased as soon as it was published…I just couldn’t wait. Something about the cover and the blurb really spoke to me.
Of course the downside is that I have to wait for the sequel now. lol
Oh my gosh, had never heard of that before but wow that sounds really good! Thanks for the rec!
You’re welcome. Enjoy!
Mmm… that’s an interesting premise. Definitely one to consider for the TBR. 🙂
Sounds interesting! I should add it to my TBR, I enjoyed Perigee Moon from this author 😀
I just put Perigee Moon on my list. Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
That sounds like a really cute story — I’m much more into the ‘forbidden love’ thing than the love triangles that have been so popular lately.
Well…the male lead character *is* a reaper of souls, so it’s not 100% cutesy…there are some sad parts and some that are a little bit scary/suspenseful. But definitely no love triangles. It’s Finn and Emma the whole way. 😉
Done! I want to read this right now.
